About

I’m a content writer and copywriter who decided to change careers from librarian to marketing. I’ve worked with small businesses and solopreneurs on their marketing since 2020.

I discovered marketing through blogging. When I was in high school, I started my very first blog, a book blog, on free WordPress. When I graduated college, I had no idea what I wanted to do and spent hours googling how to make money from blogging. I ended up becoming a librarian, but quickly realized a creative career was for me.

Blogging helped me discover SEO, and through that I discovered I could actually make a living blogging…for other businesses.

My own career change journey made me understand how hard it is to find a career you really enjoy. Changing jobs in the same field is hard enough, and changing your whole career is even scarier.

This experience is what inspired me to start Marketing Job Tips.

On it, you’ll find guides and information on how to change careers to marketing. If you’re creative, love learning, and get excited about data, marketing could be the perfect career for you.

I may not be a librarian anymore, but getting my MLIS (masters of library and information science) was one of the best decisions of my life. I got my MLIS from Texas Woman’s University, where I concentrated in a field called community informatics.

Community informatics it all about empowering communities through technology, and even though I don’t apply it by working in libraries anymore, that’s something I’m still incredibly passionate about and hope to do through my marketing work.

On this site, I share my own experiences and how I got started in marketing to help you do the same.
